7 Facts About Cancers, the Zodiac’s Loyal Crabs

It’s almost summertime, which means  Cancer szn , bb!!! From June 21 to July 22, expect the waterworks to be in full swing. And I’m not just talking about the ocean, pool, or sweat from all your at-home workouts. Cancer season means ~emotions~, aka a few tears and all the deep feels. If you didn’t know,  Cancer is a water sign , so like their fellow water friends (hi, Pisces and Scorpio), Cancers are totally submerged in their surroundings.  They simply cannot help that they’re ruled by their emotions!!  They perceive others’ feelings intensely—like, I’m talking borderline  psychic  deep. For better or worse, Cancers tend to be clouded by their many changing moods and vivid imagination…which *cough* is why we are here today. Before we do a deep dive, lemme make one thing clear:  Cancers are NOT crybabies .   For some reason, these sweet summer babes are associated with very false stereotypes. But fret not, I’m here to clear all this up, because th...

Photos: You should see some of the tactics used by people in attempt to smuggle illegal items into Saudi Arabia

Image
Saudi Arabia custom officials posted some of the various illegal items people have attempted to smuggle into the country. One of the most popular items uncovered by officials is alcohol which is completely banned in Saudi Arabia. More photos after the cut... As seen in the photos, some people have hid bottles of whiskey in the crevices of their cars in the hope that the normal-looking exterior is enough to mask what lies beneath. In the first six days of January alone, almost 535,000 Captagon pills were found during a number of different searches by Saudi customs officers: 414,000 pills were found in truck tires; 100,000 were concealed in wooden pallets; and another 10,000 were found in the lining of a man’s underwear.  Smugglers have even used camels to try and get their contraband into the country, with Saudi officials discovering a camel with 115,000 narcotic pills on its back. In an attempt to sneak 48,000 cans of Heineken into the country, a smuggler wrapped each ...

Thiery Henry says Van Gaal should be sacked from Man U and replaced with Jose Mourinho

Image
The former Arsenal striker thinks that Manchester United coach Louis Van Gaal is failing to infuse his ideas to his players and that he is struggling so hard to keep up with his job. He says the coach doesn't know what he is doing anymore so the best thing for Man U to do is let him go and hire Mourinho.  In his Sunday column of The Sun UK, he wrote: "I know a lot of United fans and all they talk about is how poorly their team are playing, "It’s not about results any more. Even when they win, the issue is still how awful the football is. They don’t enjoy watching their team any more. They are bored", "No one can question Van Gaal’s pedigree as a coach. But he has failed to get his message across at United and the players don’t know what is expected of them. He doesn’t appear to know his best team or even his best formation."  "The club are crying out for success and Mourinho guarantees that, in spite of everything ...

Photo: Kano Govt empowers limbless Rahma Haruna and her family with foodstuffs and cash gifts

Image
Kano State Govt through the state Commissioner for Women Affair, Barr. Zubaida Damakka Abubakar empowered the family of Rahma Haruna, a limbless 19-year old girl of Lahadin Makole in Dawakin Kudu local government area of Kano state.   Rahma, who has no functional limbs but tiny appendages in the position of arms and legs, is being moved about in a synthetic washbasin by a young cousin, to beg for alms in Kano city, about 26 kilometers from her village. The earnings help in sustaining the family of four.   Her father, Haruna Muhammad said her challenge started when she was 6 months old and largely due to poverty, he could not take her for specialized medical attention. He had sold his farm and personal belongings but no progress was recorded in her treatment. At last, he resigned to the sad fate, which many people in his community seem to believe, that her condition is the handiwork of evil spirits. Because of her condition, the poor girl cannot do virtually anything wit...

Piers Morgan weighs in on Kanye-Wiz-Amber spat

Image
Trust him to have an opinion on everything. Always interesting to read though. Below is what he wrote on UK Daily Mail about the twitter fight between Kanye, wiz Khalifa and Amber last night... "‘Are you OK mate?’ I tweeted to Kanye West last night. He’s not really my ‘mate’, I guess. But I’ve met him a few times, and get on very well with his wife Kim Kardashian. The reason I asked such a simple public question was because I follow him on Twitter and he appeared to have taken sudden and dramatic leave of his senses. In an explosion of tweets, Kanye went after his big rap rival Wiz Khalifa in spectacular style. It was the nearest thing to verbal social media diarrhea that I’ve ever witnessed. Tweet after tweet after tweet burst out of his feed, the mood and tone of Kanye’s thought process swaying between blind rage, sneering insult, and finally pure viciousness. He slayed Khalifa for everything from his music and...

Falling Naira: Buhari is making same error he made as military head 30 years ago- The Economist

Image
International News magazine,  The Economist , says President Buhari is making the same mistake now he made with the falling Naira when he was Military leader 30 years ago. Find the article below ... Give me lucky generals,” Napoleon is supposed to have said, preferring them to talented ones. Muhammadu Buhari, a former general, has not had much luck when it comes to the oil price. Between 1983 and 1985 he was Nigeria’s military ruler. Just before he took over, oil prices began a lengthy collapse; the country’s export earnings fell by more than half.  The economy went into a deep recession and Mr Buhari, unable to cope, was overthrown in a coup. Now he is president again. (He won a fair election last year against a woeful opponent; The Economist endorsed him.) And once again, oil prices have slumped, from $64 a barrel on the day he was sworn in to $32 eight months later. Growth probably fell by half in 2015, from 6.3% to little more than 3% (see article). ...

The Online Warriors By Reuben Abati

Image
Must read article from former presidential aide, Reuben Abati... My criticisms of the excesses of the online phenomenon in terms of its brazen abuse in an unregulated environment has often made me the target of attacks, with many insisting on quoting the opening paragraph of a piece I once wrote along these lines as if it is a memorial verse, but further developments have shown that indeed, liberal, accommodative, useful and open as the growth of the new media may seem in Nigeria, we may well, if care is not taken, be dealing with a dangerous tool in the hands of the unscrupulous which could drive society towards the lunatic fringe.          The beauty of the new media is its democratic temper. With any electronic device, anyone at all, can set up a communications unit, using a phone, a tablet, a laptop, a desktop, and simply occupy the social space and broadcast information which in a matter of minutes may go viral and condition public opinion....

Ibori Replies Attorney-General: "There Is No Ibori Loot Anywhere"

Image
Read the press statement below... Chief James Onanefe Ibori’s Media Office was shocked to read in the newspapers of Wednesday January 27, 2016, that the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami, said the Federal Government was priming itself to recover the sum of 6.9m British Pounds Sterling described as “Ibori loot”. In a press statement, Mr. Tony Eluemunr, Ibori’s Media Assistant said ‘’there is no Ibori loot anywhere in the world. Such money, whether in British pounds, American dollars or the Nigerian Naira just does not exist. This is because the Ibori London trial is not yet over. It is an incontrovertible fact that the confiscation hearing has not started at all, and remains months away into the future. This makes it disappointing that a high official of State such as the Attorney-General may have been misled into believing that an Ibori loot not only exists anywhere, but he even put a figure (6.9 mi...

Rivers state Government asks Amaechi to account for N3 trillion

Image
Rivers State government has called on the Minister for Transport and former Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi, to account for about N3 trillion he received throughout his eight years tenure as the governor of the State. Speaking to media aides in Port Harcourt yesterday January 28th, the State Commissioner for Information, Tam George said the State was still reeling from “the catastrophic legacy of the former governor” despite receiving over three trillion naira in revenue in 8 years. “Amaechi left the most abandoned projects in the history of Rivers State since 1997. Thousands of workers were without their salaries for four months and thousands of teachers were not paid for nearly 12 months. We have so many abandoned projects which huge sums have been paid but projects are yet to be completed. We have the Mono-rail project that gulped over N60bn and it was abandoned. We have the Woji road project awarded at N3bn. There was a variation of the project to the upw...

'I will never quit Man U, your claims are outrageous'- coach Louis Van Gaal blasts media

Image
Man U coach Louis van Gaal has insisted that he will not resign despite the huge pressure he is facing in his second year as the coach of Britain's biggest and most successful club. The Dutch man lost at home last week to Southampton and his style of play has infuriated fans with many calling for him to be sacked and replaced with either Ryan Giggs, Pep Guardiola or Jose Mourinho. Van Gaal labelled the stories suggesting he had to be persuaded to stay as "awful and horrible" on Thursday's press conference ahead of the F.A cup clash with Derby County. Asked about the claims he offered to walk away from the job, Van Gaal told reporters: "I have not mentioned that, ever. I am always fighting. I have signed a three-year contract here. It's a process, not one game, and I want to continue until the end. When I'm not willing to do that, I don't think I would have started here one-and-a-half years ago. When I have signed for clubs, I have always spoken a l...

Amber Rose pours her heart out in an article for Time

Image
In an Op-Ed for  Time , Amber Rose poured out her heart like never seen before. She wrote on having to endure the judgement of others and constantly explaining herself. She revealed she has gotten over caring what people think and has chosen instead to just be herself. She wrote the piece a day after her tweet fight with Kanye. Read below... "Ever since high school, I’ve been called a slut. All the boys were attracted to me—that wasn’t my fault! Then, when I started getting famous, the shaming got even worse.  All these messed up stories came out about me, and I was like, “That’s not true! I’m not that kind of girl!” But even things I had done—things a man would never be judged for—got me lots of hate. After my ex-husband Wiz Khalifa and I got a divorce, I’d go out for a date at a restaurant like any normal single human and people would say, “Man, she’s such a ho. She’s out at restaurants with...

15-year-old Danish girl who stabbed mother to death after being radicalised gets 9-year jail term

Image
Lisa Borch was only 15 when she in collaboration with her boyfriend Bakhtiar Mohammed Abdulla, (pictured right) 29, stabbed her mother Tina Römer Holtegaard at least 20 times in their home in Kvissel, northern Denmark, in October 2014. What could possibly have turned a blonde, pretty, teenager into a heartless murderer? She had kept bad company. Abdulla wasn't the first unscrupulous fellow in her life, she had been in love with an unnamed Muslim man during which she developed an obsession for militant Islam. The man jilted her to go be with his wife and children in Sweden but the first seeds of violence had been sown and she soon fell in love with Iraqi-born Abdulla after meeting him at a local refugee centre near her home. Before the brutal murder of her mother Mrs Holtegaard (Pictured above) Borch had spent hours on YouTube watching footage of the savage decapitations of David Haines and Alan Henning. She told the court she had only confessed to the crime because she was scar...

Obanikoro to EFCC: Stop this media trial, publish names of the directors and signatories to the McNamara account

Image
The immediate past Minister of State, Foreign Affairs and a former Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has challenged controversial online platform, Sahara Reporters and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to sincerely publish the names of the Directors and signatories to the alleged Silva McNamara Limited account to the public as at when the said money was paid instead of demonising and deceiving Nigerians with vague, contrived and distorted information. Obanikoro is appalled by the public political persecution embarked upon by these agencies noting that there is nowhere in the world where investigations are being conducted using the pages of the newspapers. In a statement signed on Saturday by one of his Media Aide, Mr. Jonathan Eze, it queried the wisdom and logic of bandying figures and associating same with his sons who are thorough bred professionals in their own rights reminding them that the court of law is and remains the judicial institu...

Trolls come for Russell Wilson over his descriptive writing tweets about Ciara

Image
So NFL player Russell Wilson continued gushing over his girlfriend on Twitter with sweet words, but some trolls/fans called him out and said the words he was using to describe Ciara were phrases from descriptive writing describing 'a beautiful woman', lol. He kinda admitted to it by saying he preffered to use Bing to describe his love. He had fans who supported him and of course who thought he should take a rest. More tweets when you continue...
